Why I started Our Life Story
Hi, I’m Cynthia Shearer.
Our Life Story began after I lost my mother in-law to unexpected complications from a fall while away on holidays. Although Ros shared bits and pieces of her life with me over the 8 years I knew her, I never really understood what a passionate, highly intelligent and fiercely independent person she was until her funeral. That is a real shame! I really wish I had sat down with Ros and heard her story as only she could tell it.
Now a mother of two young children, wife, daughter, sister and friend to many, the importance of capturing our stories and memories has become my passion.
I have seen how impactful personal lessons are when shared through the art of storytelling. I have also seen how memories fade and stories change over time and lose their impact when not documented.
I have also worked as a life coach and was drawn to that profession to help others understand what makes them unique and how to use those gifts to create a life they love. This experience has helped me to develop an intuitive nature for listening to people’s stories and appreciating what they share, often unearthing stories they never thought to share before.
It has enabled me to create our signature series of questions that dig deep into your memories while creating a story where those who hear it will hang onto your every word.
